I had my reservations about blogging for a long time. Don’t get me wrong, I love writing and sharing my interests with people. Hopefully, at some point along the way, I can make them laugh, too.
Unfortunately, some bloggers can be down right mean! I always think about Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, when they finally make enough money to visit every person who wrote nasty things about them on the internet. They showed up on their doorsteps and kicked the crap out of them!
There certainly are the few, who feel the need to write scathing and nasty things about everything they come in contact with. Most of us aren’t like that, but you know what they say, “A few bad apples…”. Here’s a great example of getting even with a blogger who was a little too careless with his assumptions.
A little over a year ago, there was a very popular Pepsi Max commercial, where a disguised Jeff Gordon took an unsuspecting used car salesman for a test drive. Blogger Travis Okulski, who writes for jalopnik.com, blasted the commercial calling every aspect of it… fake.
With some help from Okulski’s bosses and some great make-up applied to Gordon. The blogger got to experience just how “fake” the original commercial was. Here is the finished result.
It just goes to show you, be careful who you rip online. You never know who’s going to hold a grudge. Obviously, Jeff Gordon does. Funny, he doesn’t remember me cutting him off at the Applebee’s in Hickory, NC 16 years ago.
That’s a story for another day!
