Every fall season it happens without fail, my garage needs to be cleaned out. Whether it be the addition of new beach and pool toys or maybe we’ve added a new bicycle or two. I always find myself acquiring a bunch of odds and ends that just clutter up a certain area of the garage. It makes me crazy! But as any parent knows you can’t always throw everything out and some of the clutter needs to be packed up and put away for next summer.
Living in South Florida, I always worry about the heat and humidity ruining what my family and I have packed away. I’ve been using storage bins for years, they’re great for organization. But, one thing I’ve found, is that all bins are not created equal. Some of the lesser ones crack and wear due to the elements. Then there are the ones that bow and stop sealing properly, I can still hear my wife’s high pitched screams when she opened up a Christmas bin and a large spider had taken up residence in our Nativity. That’s why, a few years ago, I started using Rubbermaid Roughneck 18-gallon bins. They are sturdy, durable and stack easily when it comes to keeping what you need to store safe.
I also am a big fan of the Rubbermaid Roughneck trash cans. When I’m done organizing, all of the stuff we don’t need to keep, goes in my 32-gallon trash can and gets wheeled out to the curb. Yep… I said wheeled. It’s got a big grip handle and wheels, so you can easily transport whatever you need without the hassle of pushing, pulling or dragging. I was going through at least one new trash can every year and I started to get tired of spending money on something I knew was just going to let me down. The Roughneck 32-gallon trash can is tough and can help you haul everything from your garage junk to backyard items, such as leaves and clippings.
This fall, no matter what your fix up project might be, swing in to you’re local Home Depot and pick up some Rubbermaid Roughneck storage bins and trash cans. They’re really affordable, so you can pick up a few without putting a dent in your wallet. Not only can I get my garage organized, but I’m saving money too!
