One of my favorite things to do during the holiday season is cook. Some of my fondest memories are of being in the kitchen with my Mom making treats and really just enjoying each others company. This is a tradition that I’ve already started passing on to my kids.
I came up with what I thought would be a great holiday cookie recipe.
I’m a big fan of thumbprint cookies. They were some of my favorite growing up and I thought they would be a perfect choice for our new family Christmas cookie. I will say this, the cocoa almonds are so good they almost didn’t make it into the cookies. I almost ate them all!!!
Cocoa Almond Thumbprint Cookie Recipe:
Ingredients
- 1 cup of Planter’s Cocoa Almonds (lightly chopped)
- 1 package of sugar cookie mix
- 1 stick of butter
- 1 egg
Directions
- MIX sugar cookie dry mix, egg and butter until it forms into dough.
- SHAPE into balls. Freeze 10 min. Roll balls in crushed nuts; place in single layer in shallow waxed paper-lined pan.
- CREATE the thumbprint with the back of a chilled spoon.
4. CUSTOMIZE by placing a piece of milk chocolate baking candy in your thumbprint and add some fun holiday sprinkles.
5. BAKE at 375 degrees for 9-11 min.
Share and Enjoy!!!
