If you like high-end cars, you probably know a little about the Jaguar and Maserati brands. Both names are synonymous with excellence if you’re looking for a sports car designed to turn heads.
Which one is better, though? If you’re looking for a Jaguar for sale, AZ is one locale where you can find some great deals, and you’ll find dealerships in other states too. Before you decide to lay down your money for a Jaguar, though, let’s run through the virtues of the Maserati as well.
How Many Options are Available?
When you’re looking for a luxury vehicle, you might want several options. Jaguar has seven, including the XE, XF, and XJ models.
Maserati only has five. The Ghibli is probably their best-known model, while the Levante and the GranTurismo also have their devotees. Still, if you want a larger selection of base models, you’ll probably be more interested in the Jaguar brand.
Warranties
Most car connoisseurs will also look at a vehicle’s warranty. After all, if you’re going to pay as much as you’ll end up spending for either car brand, you want to know that the company has your back if you’re in an accident or anything else occurs.
All seven Jaguar models come with the Jaguar EliteCare warranty if you buy them brand new. That gives you five-year or 60,000-mile coverage, whichever comes first. You get scheduled maintenance, roadside assistance, and several other desirable features as part of that.
As for Maserati, their warranty program is only good for four years or 50,000 miles. Kelley Blue Book also seems to favor Jaguar models when it comes to their overall reliability.
Safety Features
You might also want to know about safety features you’ll get with Maserati vs. Jaguar models. The Jaguar XJ, one of their top sellers, comes with Lane Keep Assist and Lane Departure Warnings.
Lane Keep Assist uses corrective nudging to keep the car in the proper lane if something distracts you for a moment. Lane Departure Warnings sound a gentle but insistent noise to let you know if you’re drifting out of your lane.
The Maserati Ghibli doesn’t come standard with either of those. You will have to pay more to get them installed, meaning the average Jaguar model is the more safety-oriented of the two car companies.
Power Numbers
The Maserati Levante, their SUV model, comes with 345 horsepower. That’s impressive for a vehicle that size.
The Jaguar counters with the F-Pace SUV. It has a 2-liter 4-cylinder engine with 24 horsepower. If you want more muscle, though, you can go with a 5-liter V8 engine instead. That one has 550 horsepower, though the price tag reflects those extra ponies.
Most fancy car buyers feel like Maserati is a more exclusive brand. However, Jaguar has more models from which to choose. Those models often have better safety features, and the warranty program is better with Jaguar as well.
You’ll have to think about what you prioritize before choosing between these companies.
